          Product Specific Information

MA5-15593 targets AKT2 in indirect ELISA, IF, IHC, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human, Non-human primate, and Rat samples.

The MA5-15593 immunogen is purified recombinant fragment of human AKT2 expressed in E. Coli.

MA5-15593 detects AKT2 which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 60kDa.

          Target Information

AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase that is enriched in insulin responsive tissues and has been implicated in the metabolic actions of the hormone. Akt is involved in many cellular signaling pathways and acts as a transducer of many functions initiated by growth factor receptors that activate phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI 3-kinase). Akt2 is amplified and overexpressed in some human cancers.
