Reconstitute with 0.2 mL of distilled water to yield a concentration of 500 µg/mL.
Positive Control - WB: A549 whole cell, MCF-7 whole cell, COLO320 whole cell, JURKAT whole cell, HELA whole cell.|Store at -20°C for one year from date of receipt. After reconstitution, at 4°C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for six months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Target Information
The ALOX12 gene encodes the enzyme arachidonate 12-lipoxygenase, a member of the lipoxygenase family that metabolizes arachidonic acid into bioactive lipid mediators. ALOX12 catalyzes the formation of 12-hydroperoxyeicosatetraenoic acid (12-HPETE), which is further reduced to 12-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (12-HETE). These products are involved in various biological processes, including inflammation, cellular signaling, and blood platelet function. ALOX12 plays a significant role in pathophysiological conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and inflammatory disorders. Dysregulation or altered expression of ALOX12 has been implicated in tumorigenesis and metastasis, where its metabolites influence cell proliferation, migration, and survival. Additionally, ALOX12 impacts platelet aggregation and inflammation, making it a potential target for therapeutic strategies aimed at treating diseases linked to lipid mediator imbalances.
