AP2 alpha Antibody (MA5-55721) in WB
Western blot analysis of AP2 alpha in 15 µg of HeLa. Sample was run on 6-18% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, blotted onto nitrocellulose membrane, and peroxidase conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG was used as the secondary antibody. AP2 alpha band was visualized using ECL Western Blotting Substrate. Incubation with primary AP2 alpha monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-55721) at a dilution of 1 µg/mL was used.

Target Information
TFAP2A is a sequence-specific DNA-binding protein that interacts with inducible viral and cellular enhancer elements to regulate transcription of selected genes. AP-2 factors bind to the consensus sequence 5'-GCCNNNGGC-3' and activate genes involved in a large spectrum of important biological functions including proper eye, face, body wall, limbs and neural tube development. They also suppress a number of genes including MCAM/MUC18, C/EBP alpha and MYC. TFAP2A is the only AP-2 protein required for early morphogenesis of the lens vesicle.
