Actin Antibody (MA5-42536) in IHC (P)

Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) analysis of paraffin-embedded Human fetal skeletal muscle tissue using Actin Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-42536). The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 8.0-8.4) for 20 minutes. The tissues were blocked in 5% BSA for 30 minutes at room temperature, washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with the Actin antibody at ... Product Specific Information

Positive Control: Rat heart tissue lysate, mouse smooth muscle tissue lysate, human skeletal muscle tissue lysate.

          Subcellular Location: Cytoplasm, Cytoskeleton

          Target Information

Actin exists as a ubiquitous protein involved with filament formation that make up large portions of the cytoskeleton. Actin filaments interact with myosin to assist in muscle contraction as well as aiding in cell motility and cytokinesis. In vertebrates there are three groups of actin isoforms: alpha, beta and gamma. The alpha actins are found in muscle tissues and are a major constituent of the contractile apparatus. The beta and gamma actins co-exists in most cell types as components of the cytoskeleton and as mediators of internal cell motility.
