Artemis Antibody (600-101-293) in IHC (P)
Rocklands Affinity Purified anti-Artemis antibody was used at a 1:1000 dilution to detect Artemis by immunohistochemistry in human spleen. Positive staining of T cells and B lymphocytes is observed in thymus, lymph nodes and spleen. Tissue was formalin-fixed and paraffin embedded. Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This antibody detects a band of the appropriate size in a number of different cell lines. However, it does not detect a band in cell lines that do not express artemis, such as the cell line CJ (see figure) and in an hTERT line (not shown).
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for aryl hydrocarbons and a ligand-activated transcription factor. The encoded protein is found in the cytoplasm as part of a multiprotein complex, but upon binding of ligand is transported to the nucleus. This protein can regulate the expression of many xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes. Also, the encoded protein can bind specifically to and inhibit the activity of hepatitis B virus.
