FIGURE: 1 / 2
Description: The eBioSAM-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human integrin alpha 5, also known as fibronectin receptor alpha chain, very late activation antigen 5 alpha, and CD49e. Integrins are composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain, which non-covalently associate to form the functional integrin. Integrin heterodimers participate in cell surface-mediated signaling and adhesion functions. Integrin alpha 5 undergoes post-translational cleavage in its extracellular domain to yield disulfide linked light and heavy chains that join with Integrin beta 1 (CD29) to form the fibronectin receptor, also known as the very late activation antigen-5 (VLA-5) complex. Integrin alpha 5 is expressed on thymocytes, T cells, monocytes, platelets, early B cells, and activated B cells.
Applications Reported: This eBioSAM-1 (SAM-1, SAM1) antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: This eBioSAM-1 (SAM-1, SAM1) antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. This can be used at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test. A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test.
Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 519 nm; Laser: Blue Laser.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
The product of this gene belongs to the integrin alpha chain family. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This gene encodes the integrin alpha 5 chain. Alpha chain 5 undergoes post-translational cleavage in the extracellular domain to yield disulfide-linked light and heavy chains that join with beta 1 to form a fibronectin receptor. In addition to adhesion, integrins are known to participate in cell-surface mediated signalling.
