Caveolin 3 Antibody (PA1-066) in WB

Western blot analysis was performed on whole cell extracts (20 µg lysate) of Rat Heart (Lane 1), Mouse Heart (Lane 2), HEK-293 (Lane 3), Rat Skeletal Muscle (lane 4) and Mouse Muscle (lane 5). The blots were probed with Anti-Caveolin 3 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA1-066, 1-3 µg/mL) and detected by chemiluminescence using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (Heavy Chain) Superclonal™ Secondary Antibody, HRP conjugate (Product # A27036, 0.4 µg/mL, 1:2500 dilution). A 17 kDa band corresponding to Caveolin 3 was observed across tissues tested exce... View More {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

          Product Specific Information

PA1-066 detects Caveolin 3 from rat and mouse tissues. This antibody does not detect caveolin-1 or -2.

PA1-066 has been successfully used in Western blot, IF, immunocytochemistry and immunoprecipitation procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~21 kDa protein representing Caveolin 3 from rat heart homogenate.

          The PA1-066 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues M(1) M T E E H T D L E A R I I K D I H C(19) C of mouse CAV3. This sequence is ~85% conserved in human Caveolin 3. PA1-066 immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-081) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.

          Target Information

Caveolin-3 (CAV3) acts as a scaffolding protein within the caveolar membrane. It interacts directly with G-protein alpha subunits and can functionally regulate their activity. Caveolin-3 may also regulate voltage-gated potassium channels. It also plays a role in the sarcolemma repair mechanism of both skeletal muscle and cardiomyocytes that permits rapid resealing of membranes disrupted by mechanical stress. Caveolin-3 also mediates the recruitment of CAVIN2 and CAVIN3 proteins to the caveolae. Mutations in the gene can result in HyperCKmia, rippling muscle disease 2, cardiomyopathy, long QT syndrome 9, sudden infant death syndrome, and myopathy.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
