Detection of human and mouse Cul7 by immunoprecipitation. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg) from human U2OS (H) and mouse wild-type MEF (M) cells. Antibody: Affinity purified rabbit anti-Cul7 antibody (Product # A300-428A) used at 3 µg/mg lysate for IP. Western blot of immunoprecipitates was performed using rabbit anti-Cul7 antibody (Product #A300-223A) at 0.33 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 15 seconds.

The protein encoded by this gene is a component of an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex. The encoded protein interacts with TP53, CUL9, and FBXW8 proteins. Defects in this gene are a cause of 3M syndrome type 1 (3M1). Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
