Western blot analysis of DSC1 in extracts of various cell lines. Samples were incubated with DSC1 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-87603) using a dilution of 1:1,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 1s.

Target Information
The desmosomal cadherin desmocollin DSC1 is expressed in upper epidermis where strong adhesion is required. DSC1 is a type I membrane protein (4) required for strong adhesion and barrier maintenance in epidermis and contributes to epidermal differentiation.The DSC1 gene comprises 17 exons spanning approximately 33 kb on 18q12.1.
