Reconstitute lyophilized product with 1 mL distilled water.
DP2.17 shows distinct punctate membrane staining of epithelia. DP2.17 reacts with the rod fragment of desmoplakin 1. Polypeptide reacting: Desmoplakin no. 1 (MW 250,000 polypeptide of desmosomal plaques) Reactivity on cultured cell lines: Several human carcinoma cell lines, such as MCF-7, A-431, TR-146; bovine cells: MDBK, BMGE Tumors specifically detected: Primary and metastatic carcinoma; meningioma.
Target Information
Desmoplakin (DSP) is a major high molecular weight protein of the desmosomes. It is involved in the organization of the desmosomal cadherin-plakoglobin complexes into discrete plasma membrane domains and in the anchoring of intermediate filaments to the desmosomes. Desmoplakin mutations are associated with Keratoderma and cardiomyopathy.
