          GIPR Antibody (PA5-33585) in ICC/IF

Immunofluorescence analysis of GIPR was performed using 90% confluent log phase 3T3-L1 cells differentiated to adipocytes. The cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde for 10 minutes, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton™ X-100 for 15 minutes, and blocked with 1% BSA for 1 hour at room temperature. The cells were labeled with GIPR Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-33585) at 5 microgram/mL in 0.1% BSA, incubated at 4 degree Celsius overnight and then labeled with Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (Heavy Chain) Superclonal™ Secondary Antibody, Alexa F... Product Specific Information

BLAST analysis of the peptide immunogen showed 100% homology with human protein GHRHR.

Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Bovine, Dog, Panda (100%) Horse, Rabbit (94%) Marmoset, Hamster (88%) Rat (82%).

          Target Information

GIPR encodes a G-protein coupled receptor for gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP), which was originally identified as an activity in gut extracts that inhibited gastric acid secretion and gastrin release, but subsequently was demonstrated to stimulate insulin release in the presence of elevated glucose. Mice lacking this gene exhibit higher blood glucose levels with impaired initial insulin response after oral glucose load. Defect in this gene thus may contribute to the pathogenesis of diabetes.
