          GLT-1 Antibody (MA5-50813) in IHC (P)

Immunohistochemistry of GLT-1 in paraffin-embedded mouse cerebellum tissue. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9.0) for 20 minutes. The tissues were blocked in 1% BSA for 20 minutes at room temperature, washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with GLT-1 recombinant monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-50813) with a dilution of 1:1,000 for 1 hour at r... Target Information

Excitatory amino acid transporter 2 (EAAT2) is a member of a family of solute transporter proteins. The membrane-bound protein is the principal transporter that clears the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate from the extracellular space at synapses in the central nervous system. Glutamate clearance is necessary for proper synaptic activation and to prevent neuronal damage from excessive activation of glutamate receptors. Mutations in and decreased expression of this protein are associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS.) Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been identified.
