IL-5 Chimeric Antibody (MA5-48177) in Flow
Flow Cytometry analysis of IL-5 in Human peripheral blood leukocytes using IL-5 Chimeric Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-48177). Cells were rested for 4 hours and fixed using 2% PFA, permeabilized using 0.5% Triton and stained with anti-Fluorescein IgG antibody (isotype control, black line) or IL-5 Chimeric Monoclonal Antibody (blue line) at a dilution of 1:100 for 1h at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a goat anti-mouse IgG AF488 antibody at a dilution of 1:1,000 and cells were analyzed using a flow-cytometer.

Specificity: This antibody is specific for human rIL-5, and does not cross-react with human rIL-1alpha, rIL-lBeta, rIL-4, rIL-8, rM-CSF, or rTGF-alpha.
Target Information
IL-5 is a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for both B cells and eosinophils. IL-5 cytokine is a main regulator of eosinopoiesis, eosinophil maturation and activation. The elevated production of this cytokine is reported to be related to asthma or hypereosinophilic syndromes. The receptor of IL-5 cytokine is a heterodimer, whose beta subunit is shared with the receptors for interleukine 3 (IL3) and colony stimulating factor 2 (CSF2/GM-CSF). IL-5, together with those for interleukin 4 (IL4), interleukin 13 (IL13), and CSF2, form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5. IL-5, IL4, and IL13 are found to be regulated coordinately by long-range regulatory elements spread over 120 kilobases on chromosome 5q31.
