IRF8 Antibody (A304-027A) in IP
Detection of mouse IRF8 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from RAW 264.7 cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-IRF8 antibody (Product # A304-027A) (lot 1) used for IP at 6 µg/mg lysate. IRF8 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-IRF8 antibodies BL12057, A304-026A and A304-028A. For blotting immunoprecipitated IRF8, A304-028A was used at 1 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Target Information
IRF8 (interferon regulatory factor 8) is a transcriptional activator or repressor. It specifically binds to the upstream regulatory region of type I IFN and IFN-inducible MHC class I genes. IRF8 plays a negative regulatory role in cells of the immune system. It is involved in CD8+ dendritic cell differentiation by forming a complex with the BATF-JUNB heterodimer in immune cells. This leads to recognition of AICE sequence, an immune-specific regulatory element, followed by cooperative binding of BATF and IRF8 and activation of the genes. Mutations in the gene can result in immunodeficiencey 32A and 32B.
