JMJD2C Antibody (703380) in WB
Western blot analysis was performed on modified whole cell extracts (1% SDS) (30 µg lysate) of HeLa (Lane 1), HCT 116 (Lane 2), HT-29 (Lane 3) and LNCaP (Lane 4). The blot was probed with Anti-JMJD2C Recombinant Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (Product # 703380, 1:500 dilution) and detected by chemiluminescence using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (Heavy Chain) Superclonal™ Secondary Antibody, HRP conjugate (Product # A27036, 1:4000 dilution). A ~150 kDa band corresponding to JMJD4C was observed across the cell lines tested.

Target Information
Jumonji domain-containing protein 2C (JMJD2C)/ Lysine-specific demethylase 4C (KDM4C) is a histone demethylase that specifically demethylates 'Lys-9' and 'Lys-36' residues of histone H3; thereby, playing a central role in histone code. KDM4C does not demethylate histone H3 'Lys-4', H3 'Lys-27', or H4 'Lys-20'. It demethylates trimethylated H3 "Lys-9' and H3 "Lys-36' residues. There is no activity on mono- or dimethylated residues. Demethylation of Lys residues generates formaldehyde and succinate.
