          MEK2 Antibody (PA5-118046) in ICC/IF

Immunofluorescence staining of MEK2 in MCF7 cells. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, permeabilzed with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS, blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with MEK2 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-118046, 1:200) at 4°C overnight. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor®488-conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody (green) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Positive staining was localized to cytoplasm. {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

          Target Information

MAP2K2 (MEK2) is a dual specificity serine/threonine kinase that is known to play a critical role in mitogen growth factor signal transduction. Mitogen activated protein kinase 2 (MEK2 or MAPKK2) is a member of a family of tyrosine/threonine protein kinases that activate the ERK1 and 2 and MAPK enzymes by phosphorylating both residues within the threonine/glutamate/tyrosine (TEY) motif in the activation loop. MEK1 and 2 are also activated by dual phosphorylation, which occurs on serine 218 and 222, in the activation loop of the MEK. Threonine 292 of MEK1 is phosphorylated by ERK 2, which serves as a negative feedback loop by suppressing activation of MEK1.
