          PGC1 alpha/beta Antibody (MA5-32563) in WB

Western Blot was performed using Anti-PGC1 alpha/beta Recombinant Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (JF09-71) (Product # MA5-32563) and a 90 kDa band corresponding to Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha was observed across tissues. Tissue extracts (40 µg lysate) of Mouse Heart (Lane 1), Mouse Kidney (Lane 2), Mouse Thymus (Lane 3), Mouse Placenta (Lane 4), Rat Heart (Lane 5) were electrophoresed using NuPAGE™ 4-12% Bis-Tris Protein Gel (Product # NP0321BOX). Resolved proteins were then transferred onto a nitrocell... View More {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

          Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning in the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Then, individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production. The advantages of using recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include: better specificity and sensitivity, lot-to-lot consistency, animal origin-free formulations, and broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire.

          Target Information

PGC-1 beta is a tissue specific co-activator that enhances the activity of estrogen receptor alpha. The co-activation function relies on a bipartite transcriptional activation domain and two LXXLL motifs that interact with the AR2 domain of ER-alpha in an estrogen-dependent manner. Ectopic expression of this protein has been shown to lead to increased mitochondrial number and basal oxygen consumption.
