          PPARGC1A Antibody (PA5-72948) in WB

Western blot was performed using Anti-PGC1 alpha Polyclonal Antibody(Product # PA5-72948) and a 91kDa band corresponding to PGC1 alpha was observed across the tested cell lines. Whole cell extracts (30 µg lysate) of A-431 (Lane 1), HeLa (Lane 2), Hep G2 (Lane 3), NIH/3T3 (Lane 4), were electrophoresed using NuPAGE™ 4-12% Bis-Tris Protein Gel (Product # NP0321BOX). Resolved proteins were then transferred onto a Nitrocellulose membrane (Product # IB23001) by iBlot® 2 Dry Blotting System (Product # IB21001). The blot was probed with the prima... Target Information

PGC1 alpha is a transcriptional coactivator that regulates the genes involved in energy metabolism. It interacts with PPARgamma, which permits it's interaction with multiple transcription factors. PGC-1 Alpha can interact with, and regulate the activities of, cAMP response element binding protein (CREB) and nuclear respiratory factors (NRFs). It provides a direct link between external physiological stimuli and the regulation of mitochondrial biogenesis, and is a major factor that regulates muscle fiber type determination. It may be also involved in controlling blood pressure, regulating cellular cholesterol homoeostasis, and the development of obesity.
