Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning in the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Then, individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production. The advantages of using recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include: better specificity and sensitivity, lot-to-lot consistency, animal origin-free formulations, and broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire.
This antibody has specificity for Mouse REG3B.
The REG3B gene encodes a protein that is part of the regenerating islet-derived (Reg) family, with significant roles in antimicrobial activity and tissue repair. REG3B is primarily expressed in the pancreas and is implicated in pancreatic regeneration, playing a critical role in conditions such as diabetes and pancreatitis. It exhibits potential therapeutic benefits in tissue injury and inflammatory disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease and acute liver injury. REG3B promotes acinar-to-ductal metaplasia through the activation of the RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK signaling pathway, suggesting its involvement in the early stages of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma development. Additionally, REG3B has been identified as an essential regulator of macrophage trafficking in cardiac healing post-myocardial ischemia, aiding in the recruitment and expansion of myeloid cells. Research aims to target REG3B and its receptors to interrupt pathological processes, offering promising avenues for treatment of pancreatic and extrapancreatic diseases.
