RPE65 Antibody (MA1-16578) in ICC/IF

Immunocytochemistry analysis of RPE65 in ARPE19 cells, a spontaneously arising human retinal pigment epithelia cell line. Samples were incubated in RPE65 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA1-16578) using a dilution of 1:100 dilution in PBS, overnight 4 °C incubation. 10 minutes fixation in 4% PFA, 10 minutes permeabilization in PBS containing 0.2% Triton X-100 (PBS-T), 1 hour blocking in 10% normal goat serum containing 1% BSA in PBS-T.

Target Information

RPE65 is a major protein of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). RPE65 is essential for the regeneration of rhodopsin in the visual cycle. Mutations in RPE65 are responsible for certain forms of autosomal recessive severe retinal dystrophy, including Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA). Loss of function results in a block in retinoid processing required for the synthesis of 11-cis retinal and the accumulation of retinyl esters in the RPE.
