PA1-4138 detects human SFRP5.
PA1-4138 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot this antibody detects a ~40 kDa protein representing human SFRP5 in pancreas lysate.
The PA1-4138 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues A(25) P A R C E E Y D Y Y G W Q(38) of human SFRP5. This sequence is 92% conserved in bovine, 82% conserved in rat, and 78% conserved in mouse.
Maintain at 4ºC for 3 months or at -20ºC for longer periods. Stable for 1 year. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
Secreted frizzled-related protein 5 (SFRP5) is a member of the SFRP family that contains a cysteine-rich domain homologous to the putative Wnt-binding site of Frizzled proteins. SFRPs act as soluble modulators of Wnt signaling. SFRP5 and SFRP1 may be involved in determining the polarity of photoreceptor cells in the retina. SFRP5 is highly expressed in the retinal pigment epithelium, and moderately expressed in the pancreas.
