          SLC6A4 Chimeric Antibody (MA5-51626) in ICC/IF

Immunocytochemistry analysis of SLC6A4 in paraformaldehyde fixed HepG2 cells using SLC6A4 Chimeric Recombinant Rabbit Monoclocal Antibody (Product # MA5-51626) at 10 µg/mL for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (2 µg/mL), showing membrane staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show from left-right, top-bottom: primary antibody, DAPI, merged channels and an isotype control. The iso... Product Specific Information

The 8B6 Fab binds to extracellular loops 2 and 4 of hSERT, as shown by crystallography.

          Target Information

SERT is an integral membrane protein that transports the neurotransmitter serotonin from synaptic spaces into presynaptic neurons. The encoded protein terminates the action of serotonin and recycles it in a sodium-dependent manner. This protein is a target of psychomotor stimulants, such as amphetamines and cocaine, and is a member of the sodium:neurotransmitter symporter family. A repeat length polymorphism in the promoter of this gene has been shown to affect the rate of serotonin uptake and may play a role in sudden infant death syndrome, aggressive behavior in Alzheimer disease patients, and depression-susceptibility in people experiencing emotional trauma.
