Knockdown of SMYD3 was achieved by transfecting HeLa cells with SMYD3 specific siRNA (Silencer® select Product # s34865 and Product # s34863). Western blot analysis (Fig a) was performed using Nuclear enriched lysates from the SMYD3 knock down cells (lane 3), non-specific scrambled siRNA transfected cells (lane 2) and untransfected cells (lane 1). Target Information
SMYD3 (histone-lysine N-methyltransferase) methylates Lys-4 of histone H3 and Lys-5 of histone H4. It induces di- and tri-methylation. SMYD3 plays an important role in transcriptional activation as a member of an RNA polymerase complex.
