AbFlex® Suz12 antibody (rAb) tested by Immunoprecipitation 300 µg of HeLa cell nuclear extract was immunoprecipitated with 5 µg of either AbFlex Suz12 antibody (Lane 1) or Mouse IgG (Lane 2). Immunoprecipitated proteins were run on SDS-PAGE and probed using a polyclonal antibody specific for Suz12 (Cat. No. 39357) at 2 µg/ml. On the gel, antibody heavy chains (50 kDa) and light chains (25 kDa) are visible.

Target Information
SUZ12 (polycomb protein SUZ12) is a zinc finger gene and has been identified at the breakpoints of a recurrent chromosomal translocation reported in endometrial stromal sarcoma. Recombination of these breakpoints results in the fusion of this gene and JAZF1. SUZ12 is also a component of the PRC2/EED-EZH2 complex which methylates Lys-9 (H3K9me) and Lys-27 (H3K27me) of histone H3 leading to transcriptional repression of the affected target gene. The protein encoded by this gene contains a zinc finger domain in the C terminus of the coding region.
