          TRPV4 Antibody (ACC-034-AO-50UL) in IHC (F)

Expression of TRPV4 in rat DRG - Immunohistochemical staining of rat dorsal root ganglia (DRG) frozen sections with Anti-TRPV4-ATTO Fluor-550 Antibody (#ACC-034-AO), (1:20). TRPV4 is present in DRG neurons (red). Note that staining is stronger in small cells (arrows). Hoechst 33342 is used as the counterstain. {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

          Product Specific Information

Reconstitution: 50 µL double distilled water (DDW), depending on the sample size. The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, it should be stored at -20C. The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4C for up to 1 week. For longer periods, small aliquots should be stored at -20C. Avoid multiple freezing and thawing. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10000 x g 5 min).

          Target Information

TRPV4 (Transient Receptor Potential Cation Channel Subfamily V Member 4) is a cation-selective channel, activated in response to systemic osmotic pressure. Non-selective calcium permeant cation channel probably involved in osmotic sensitivity and mechanosensitivity. TRPV4 is a member of the OSM9-like transient receptor potential channel (OTRPC) subfamily in the transient receptor potential (TRP) superfamily of ion channels. The TRPV4 protein is a Ca2+-permeable, nonselective cation channel that is thought to be involved in the regulation of systemic osmotic pressure. Mutations in the TRPV4 gene are the cause of spondylometaphyseal and metatropic dysplasia and hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy type IIC. Diseases associated with TRPV4 include Metatropic Dysplasia and Spondylometaphyseal Dysplasia, Kozlowski Type. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
