Immunocytochemistry (Confocal immunofluorescence) of TUFM in paraformaldehyde-fixed HeLa. Samples were incubated with TUFM polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-27511) using a dilution of 1:500 (green). Alpha-tubulin filaments were labeled with alpha Tubulin monoclonal antibody (Product # MA1-25054) (Red) at 1:2,500.

Target Information

This gene encodes a protein which participates in protein translation in mitochondria. Mutations in this gene have been associated with combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency resulting in lactic acidosis and fatal encephalopathy. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 17.
