Reconstitute the lyophilized antiserum by adding 1 mL sterile distilled water.
The antiSerum does not cross react with any other component of Human plasma. Interspecies cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to plasma proteins since they frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiSerum has not been tested in detail.
Alpha-1 lipoproteins are completely different from beta-lipoproteins. In fresh serum only one alpha-1 lipoprotein exists immunologically, but after centrifugation, storage, freezing and thawing two types of alpha-1 lipoprotein with difference in mobility and antigenic properties have been observed. Alpha-1 lipoprotein in fresh serum is usually precipitated by the specific antiserum as a rather symmetric arc in the albumin zone.
