Thermo Scientific Pierce White Opaque 96-Well Microplates are made of specially formulated polystyrene and treated to produce high-capacity antibody-binding characteristics. These microplates have a corner notch for use in standard plate readers.

Features of White Opaque 96-Well Microplates:
• White opaque plates for fluorescent or chemiluminescent assays
• Treated to provide protein coating capacity
• High antibody-binding surface improves the overall performance in immunoassay applications
• Plates are certified for performance, having consistently low coefficients of variation among wells

Plate Properties:
• Antibody binding capacity: High, 400 ng IgG/cm2 (1 cm2 = 100 μL volume)
• Binding interaction: hydrophobic-ionic
• Well-to-well coefficient of variation: CV <10%
• Well shape (bottom): Flat
• Maximum well volume: 360 μL

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

What kind of 96-well plate do I need for my fluorescent assay?

Select a microplate that is compatible with your instrument. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for types of microplates that are recommended for use with your instrument.

Various types of plastic may autofluoresce. Select a microplate that is rated for fluorescence-based assays and exhibits little or no autofluorescence in the emission range of the reagent you wish to use.

Clear plates are routinely used for fluorescence-based assays, but opaque-walled microplates reduce bleed-through between wells. If you are using live cells, you may need to consider special substrate treatments for the bottom of the wells, such as poly-L-lysine.
