Thermo Scientific™ Nalgene Round LDPE Carboys are the icon of lab water dispensing and storage. Place one at every sink and every work station to enhance your productivity. Carboys have a spigot boss molded in once piece with the carboy for convenience, strength and leak resistance. Suitable for collecting and dispensing distilled water, acids and reagents. Made only from high quality, laboratory-grade plastic materials for dependably low leachables and extractables.

  • Molded in graduations in 1 gal. and 5L increments for ease in dispensing
  • Integral shoulder handles make lifting comfortable for four largest sizes
  • Molded in spigot boss provides strength and leak resistance
  • Leakproof†
  • Carboy and Carton are recyclable in many communities
  • Manufactured from non-toxic materials
Warning: Do not autoclave this carboy. For autoclavable carboys, choose a Nalgene Polypropylene, Polypropylene copolymer, or Polycarbonate carboy.

Ordering Information:

Supplied with shoulder loop on 1 gal. (3.8L) size, shoulder handles on all other sizes. 1 gal. size is not graduated.

Includes:

Polypropylene spigot and screw closure with TPE gasket † The term “leakproof” applies to Thermo Scientific Nalgene products that meet the following criteria: a) Bottle/flask/funnel closure systems with closures smaller than 100mm, after they are filled with water, inverted, withstand air pressure of 2psig for 2 minutes, and no water escapes;. b) Bottle/funnel/flask closure systems of larger than 100mm after they are filled with water, inverted for 15 minutes, and no water escapes. Note: these tests, using other liquids, may not yield the same results. To ensure safe usage, customers are advised to test Thermo Scientific Nalgene bottles and closures under conditions of their planned applications. Thermo Scientific Nalgene products are leakproof at ambient temperature and pressure when used with their Nalgene closures.

Nalgene rugged LDPE carboys are designed to last many years under typical laboratory conditions. Yet, as with all durable products, they need to be retired and replaced eventually.  Nalgene LDPE carboys and their packaging are readily recyclable. Please recycle the corrugate cartons and LDPE bags in which your Nalgene carboy products are packaged. And at end of product life, please wash and recycle your Nalgene LDPE carboys.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Do you offer replacement carboy spigots?

The standard Nalgene polyproylene quick action spigot (blue handle and body, white threaded ring for connection to carboy) Cat. No. is 6422-0010 or 6422-0010PK. If the original carboy purchased was a solvent-resistant fluorinated carboy, the replacement (mostly white, with a blue cap on the handle) is the Nalgene Quick-Action Tefzel ETFE Spigot, Cat. No. 6432-0010.
