The TrueMark OpenArray Vaginal Microbiota Comprehensive Plate is an efficient, easy-to-use OpenArray plate (112-assay format) for the characterization of key vaginal microbial targets through real-time PCR. This plate contains TaqMan Gene Expression Assays for 34 microbial targets, plus prokaryotic 16S rRNA and human RNase P RPPH1 controls. The format of this OpenArray plate allows for three replicates to be run in parallel per plate for all microbial targets and five replicates for the controls.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
I accidentally left my OpenArray e.g. Vaginal Microbiota Comprehensive Plate (Cat. No. A39899), still sealed in foil package, at room temperature and it thawed. Can it still be used?
We do not have any extensive stability data on how long the array can sit at room temperature. Limited testing has shown that the extra freeze-thaw is fine. Therefore, the array may possibly still be good to use. We recommend returning the array to -20°C until you are ready to use it. If you have an array that was left out for an extended time, we recommend that you have a positive control so that the data can be compared to what you have historically seen.
What is the most current list of gene targets for the TaqMan® OpenArray Vaginal Microbiota panel?
Please see the list of TaqMan® Assays for vaginal microbiota profiling in the User Guide at the following link.
For more information, please see the following link.
Do you have any positive controls for the vaginal microbiota assays?
The TaqMan Vaginal Microbiota Amplification Control (Cat. No. A32040) is a linearized multi-target plasmid with target sequences for each available vaginal microbiota profiling assay.
Which sample prep kit do you recommend when running vaginal microbiota profiling experiments?
We recommend the MagMAX DNA Multi-Sample Ultra Kit (Cat. No. A25597) for isolating DNA for vaginal microbiota profiling experiments.
How can I check for the presence of inhibitors in my samples when running microbiota profiling experiments?
We offer a TaqMan Universal DNA Spike-In Control (Cat. No. A39175 or A39176) that can be added to samples before extraction, to monitor recovery efficiency.
