This Thermo Scientific HyPerforma Enhanced Single-Use Fermentor (eS.U.F.) is designed to provide users with enhanced functionality, ease of use, and efficiency for microbial fermentation. Enhanced jacketing provides 35% increased surface area, improving temperature control capabilities by at least 21%. The HyPerforma eS.U.F. system consists of a fermentor tank and HyPerforma Enhanced S.U.F. BioProcess Container (BPC). The system has a 5:1 turndown ratio, so it can run at a low 60-L working volume. The HyPerforma S.U.F. maintains traditional stirred-tank fermentation design principles, including specific height-to-diameter ratios (3:1), a top-driven impeller location that delivers optimum cell viability, and performance and scalability from process development through production.
