Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (87%), Rat (87%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-63619. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
Ano5 does not exhibit calcium-activated chloride channel (CaCC) activity. The Ano5 gene encodes a member of the anoctamin family of transmembrane proteins. The Ano5 protein is likely a calcium activated chloride channel. Mutations in the Ano5 gene have been associated with gnathodiaphyseal dysplasia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for Ano5. Diseases associated with ANO5 include Gnathodiaphyseal Dysplasia and Miyoshi Muscular Dystrophy 3.
