Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (31%), Rat (31%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-110929. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
Actin-like protein 8 (ACTL8), also known as Cancer/Testis Antigen 57 (CT57), is part of the cancer/testis antigen (CTA) family. It is primarily expressed in the testes but aberrantly overexpressed in various cancers, including lung adenocarcinoma, endometrial cancer, and colorectal cancer. ACTL8's overexpression is associated with enhanced cell mobility, proliferation, and colony formation, contributing to tumor growth and poor prognosis. The gene is believed to play a critical role in oncogenesis and is being investigated as a potential therapeutic target due to its involvement in tumorigenic processes.
