Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (79%), Rat (79%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-55879. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
C1orf74, also known as URCL4, is located on chromosome 1q32.2 and encodes a previously uncharacterized protein. Recent studies have revealed that C1orf74 is significantly up-regulated in various cancers, including cervical cancer and lung adenocarcinoma. The overexpression of C1orf74 is associated with poor prognosis, indicating its potential role in tumor progression and proliferation. Mechanistically, C1orf74 has been shown to positively regulate the EGFR/AKT/mTORC1 signaling pathway, which is crucial for cell growth and survival. Knockdown studies have demonstrated that reducing C1orf74 expression inhibits cancer cell growth, highlighting it as a potential therapeutic target. Additionally, C1orf74's role in immune cell infiltration suggests it may influence the tumor immune microenvironment, further implicating its importance in cancer biology.
