Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (81%), Rat (81%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-59504. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The FAM44A gene, also known as Family With Sequence Similarity 44 Member A, is located on chromosome 10q11.22. This gene encodes a protein that is implicated in cellular processes but its precise biological function remains to be fully elucidated. FAM44A's expression is observed predominantly in the testes, and it is believed to potentially play a role in spermatogenesis. Structurally, it includes various exons and introns characteristic of protein-coding genes. FAM44A is considered part of poorly characterized genes, and ongoing research is aimed at understanding its functional dynamics, potential roles in disease conditions, and interactions with other proteins. Databases like STRING suggest protein-protein interactions involving FAM44A, indicating its participation in complex cellular networks.
