Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (73%), Rat (73%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-53611. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The FAM73A gene, also known as Family With Sequence Similarity 73 Member A, is located on chromosome 2q33.3. This gene encodes a protein embedded in cellular membranes and is recognized for its involvement in various cellular processes including signal transduction and cell communication. FAM73A has been observed to play a significant role in the regulation of cancer stem cell-like properties, particularly in gastric cancer, where its circular RNA form (circFAM73A) has been implicated in tumor progression. Additionally, FAM73A is involved in iron homeostasis and resistance mechanisms within the cell, suggesting its participation in broader metabolic and stress response pathways. The gene includes multiple exons and is subject to alternative splicing, which yields various transcript variants, enhancing its functional diversity within different cellular contexts.
