This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-82843. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
Target Information
Gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase (gamma-GCS) is the rate limiting enzyme for glutathione (L-gamma-glutamyl-L-cysteinylglycine, GSH) synthesis. GSH is ubiquitous in mammalian cells as a vital intra- and extracellular protective antioxidant. Gamma-GCS is a heterodimer of a heavy catalytic subunit and a light regulatory subunit that is responsive to inflammation, phenolic ntioxidants, heat shock, oxidants and cytokines.
