Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (100%), Rat (100%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-54331. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The KBTBD2 gene encodes the Kelch repeat and BTB (POZ) domain-containing protein 2, which is involved in various cellular processes, including protein ubiquitination and metabolic regulation. The KBTBD2 protein functions as a substrate adaptor for the Cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, facilitating the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of specific substrate proteins. This activity is crucial for maintaining cellular protein homeostasis and regulating metabolic pathways. KBTBD2 has been implicated in glucose metabolism and insulin signaling, where it plays a role in modulating the degradation of key regulatory proteins. Alterations in KBTBD2 function or expression are associated with metabolic disorders, such as obesity and type 2 diabetes. Additionally, KBTBD2's involvement in ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis underscores its significance in controlling various cellular responses and adaptations, making it a potential target for therapeutic interventions in metabolic diseases.
