This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-59272. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
Target Information
The KCTD4 (Potassium Channel Tetramerization Domain Containing 4) gene encodes a protein involved in various cellular processes, including the regulation of calcium homeostasis and modulation of fibroblast activity. KCTD4 interacts with chloride intracellular channel 1 (CLIC1) to disrupt calcium homeostasis, leading to increased fibronectin secretion, which activates fibroblasts via paracrine signaling. This activation can promote cancer cell invasion through matrix metalloproteinase 24 (MMP24) signaling. The interaction between KCTD4 and CLIC1 presents a potential target for therapeutic strategies, as inhibition of this interaction has been shown to significantly suppress cancer metastasis.
