Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (89%), Rat (89%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-60188. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
SPINSTER, also known as SPNS1 or SPIN1, is a 528 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that localizes to the inner mitochondrial membrane and belongs to the spinster subfamily of the major facilitator superfamily. SPINSTER interacts with Bcl-x and Bcl-2 and, via this interaction, is thought to be involved in necrotic or autophagic cell death. The related protein SPNS2 is critical for the normal lymphocyte localization and mammalian immune system function.
