Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (81%), Rat (81%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-63210. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The TAFA3 gene encodes a protein that is part of the TAFA family of chemokine-like proteins, involved in modulating immune responses and inflammatory processes. TAFA3 is particularly implicated in the regulation of neuroinflammatory and neuroprotective activities in the central nervous system. It functions as a signaling molecule that can influence cell survival, proliferation, and migration, contributing to homeostasis in neural tissue and promoting recovery following injury. TAFA3 has been studied for its role in neuroprotection, where it helps shield neurons from damage caused by oxidative stress and inflammatory stimuli, making it significant in neurodegenerative conditions. Apart from its neuroprotective capabilities, TAFA3 may also be involved in the systemic modulation of inflammation, affecting immune cell trafficking and responses. Research into TAFA3 continues to unveil its multifaceted role in health and disease, highlighting potential therapeutic avenues for targeting this protein in conditions characterized by excessive inflammation or neurodegeneration.
