Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (80%), Rat (80%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-55651. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The TC2N gene encodes the Tandem C2 domains nuclear protein, which is characterized by the presence of two C2 domains, C2A and C2B, at the C-terminus. These domains are structured as an eight-stranded antiparallel beta-sandwich, initially recognized as a Ca2+ binding module. TC2N's role varies significantly across different types of cancer. It has been identified as an oncogene in lung, gastric, and hepatocellular carcinomas, where its overexpression promotes cell proliferation, migration, and metastasis. Conversely, in breast cancer, TC2N functions as a tumor suppressor, inhibiting distant metastasis and stemness via the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. These dual roles highlight its complex involvement in tumorigenesis, with its impact being highly context-dependent on the cancer type.
