Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (89%), Rat (89%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-62164. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The TMED5 gene encodes the transmembrane emp24 domain-containing protein 5, a member of the TMED family, which is involved in intracellular protein trafficking. This family is essential for the transport of proteins between the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus. TMED5 is a member of the γ subfamily and has been shown to regulate vital cellular processes, including protein secretion and signal transduction. Dysregulation of TMED5 has been implicated in various diseases, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Increased expression of TMED5 mRNA in HCC tissues is associated with poorer overall survival rates compared to normal tissues, suggesting its role in tumor progression and metastasis.
