Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (87%), Rat (87%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-111454. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
N-Myc protein is member of the MYC family of transcription factor proteins with a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain. N-Myc is similarly regulated and functionally complementary to C-Myc in the context of various cellular growth and differentiation processes. MYCN gene is considered the hallmark of neuroblastoma, amplification and overexpression of the MYCN proto-oncogene occurs in approximately 20% of neuroblastomas and is associated with advanced stage disease, rapid tumor progression, and poor prognosis.
