We recognize cell cultures come in all shapes and sizes. The emergence of organoids, spheroids, and other 3D cell models push the boundary of our understanding of how shape and structure can affect cell health and proliferation. As such, we offer a variety of Gibco and Invitrogen growth factors and other recombinant proteins to support your 3D cell models.

Human R-spondin 1 recombinant protein
R-spondin 1 is a protein that promotes canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling and is generally a critical component of organoid cultures. We offer both a truncated and full-length human R-spondin 1 recombinant protein to support organoid culture. Both proteins are shown to induce the activation of a β-catenin response in a Topflash luciferase assay in the presence of Wnt3a, critical for supporting organoid culture.

iPSCs to intestinal organoid
Figure 1. High levels of Human FGF-4 recombinant protein (Cat. No. PHG0154) and WNT3A act in synergy to differentiate Gibco human episomal iPSCs (Cat. No. A18945) into mid- and hindgut endoderm and promote a gut tube–like morphogenesis, resulting in the formation of 3D mid- and hindgut–like spheroids. The major components present in the differentiation media are human Noggin recombinant protein (Cat. No. PHC1506) and EGF recombinant human protein solution (Cat. No. PHG0311L). Panels a and b represent the merged images of SOX9 recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody (7H13L8) (green) (Cat. No. 702016) with DAPI (blue) and F-actin (red) staining for iPSC control cells and Intestinal organoid. The images were captured at 60X magnification.
iPSCs to kidney organoid
Figure 2. The differentiation of Gibco human episomal iPSCs (Cat. No. A18945) into kidney organoid is initiated with CHIR and human Noggin recombinant protein (Cat. No. PHC1506) which is a BMP-4 inhibitor. Cells are later treated with human Activin A recombinant protein (Cat. No. PHC9561) and human FGF-9 recombinant protein (Cat. No. PHG0194) to induce nephron progenitor cells. The panels a & b represent the merged images of PODXL monoclonal antibody 3D3 (green) (Cat. No. 39-3800) with DAPI (blue) and F-actin (red) staining for iPSC control cells and differentiated kidney organoid. The images were captured at 60X magnification.
